Breastmilk Donation Depot

Now Accepting Breastmilk Donations

San Juan Regional Medical Center has partnered with the Human Milk Repository of New Mexico (HMRNM) as the first and only breastmilk donation depot in the Four Corners. Moms who have an excess of breastmilk can now donate to our milk bank, providing a valuable service to vulnerable infants in need. As a Baby Friendly® designated hospital, we are committed to supporting breastfeeding and optimal feeding practices.

How to donate

  • The need for donor breastmilk is ever present. This valuable resource can provide benefits to babies that can last a lifetime.
  • If you are interested in donating, please visit HMRNM at https://mothersmilkbanknm.org/.
  • The website will take you through an application process to become an approved donor.
  • Once approved, you will be able to make arrangements to drop off milk donations at San Juan Regional Medical Center.

The HMRNM is the first and only FDA/HMBANA accredited milk bank in New Mexico. Donated milk is screened, pasteurized, and distributed to hospitals’ neonatal intensive care units, labor and delivery units, and also on an outpatient basis, if after meeting hospital needs, additional donor breastmilk is available.
