Cardiac Cath Lab

San Juan Regional Medical Center offers complete cardiac invasive services through our 24/7 cardiac cath lab. In this procedural area, a variety of life-sustaining cardiac procedures are performed to diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of heart conditions. These include:

  • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization (to visualize blood flow through heart arteries and identify narrowing or blockages)
  • Percutaneous coronary intervention (using tiny balloons and stents to open a narrowed or blocked heart artery)
  • Permanent pacemaker (device used to stimulate an adequate heart beat)
  • Internal cardiac defibrillators (used to detect and treat deadly heart rhythms)

Our cardiologists and other medical staff use the most advanced techniques available to diagnose and treat heart disease while minimizing risk and stress for the patient.
