Preparing for Your Surgery
We want every aspect of your surgery to go smoothly. The information below outlines what to expect before, during, and after your procedure. If you have questions at any point, please call us at 505.564.2300 between 6:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Before Your Surgery
A Patient Representative will call you to gather your insurance information and expedite your admission. Our financial specialist will reach out ahead of time with an estimate of your patient financial responsibility.
Payment is collected on your date of service; if you are not able to pay the full amount, you can discuss options with our team.
A Surgical Coordinator will call you the day before your procedure to review special instructions and answer any questions.
Day of Surgery
Please bring your insurance ID and your portion of payment. Wear loose, casual, comfortable clothing that will fit over any post-surgical dressings.
Do not wear makeup, remove all nail polish, and leave jewelry and other valuables at home. Children are welcome to bring a stuffed animal for comfort.
You will need a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours after surgery. If the patient is a minor, one guardian must remain at the center at all times.
After Your Surgery
You'll spend some time in our recovery area before heading home. Your physician will visit with you to discuss the procedure and answer any immediate questions.
Follow-up appointments are scheduled with your primary or referring physician.
Typically within one business day after your surgery, a member of our team will follow up with you by phone to check on your recovery.
