Flu vaccines will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for adults ages 18 and older. No appointment is necessary. To help keep the drive-thru process moving smoothly, participants are encouraged to wear a short-sleeved shirt or roll up their sleeve before arriving. Vaccinations will be administered in the upper arm near the shoulder, so participants should be prepared to receive the vaccine when they reach the nurse.

Please note that this vaccine clinic is for adults only. Children under 18 are not eligible. Parents and guardians can schedule a flu vaccine for children by contacting San Juan Health Partners Pediatrics at 505.609.6700 or speaking with their child’s healthcare provider.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months and older receive an annual flu vaccine, ideally by the end of October. For most people, September and October are ideal times to get vaccinated, with the goal of being protected by the end of October.

In addition to getting vaccinated, we encourage community members to take everyday steps to help prevent the spread of influenza and other respiratory illnesses:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with viruses.

For more information about flu prevention and vaccination, visit the CDC’s website or talk with your healthcare provider.
