What happens next? Once references are checked, an interview will be scheduled. A parent or guardian will be asked to attend the interview for applicants between 14 and 18 years of ago, so that all parties truly understand the expectations and rewards of volunteering. This includes at least a three month, 50-hour commitment once placed. Requirements to volunteer include a background check, a current TB skin test, and orientation. Once this is complete, training for a specific service area will be conducted for the area that best suits your interests, available time, and abilities.
