San Juan Regional Medical Center and New Mexico Donor Services to Honor the Gift of Life
San Juan Regional Medical Center and New Mexico Donor Services invite our community to join us for a special event honoring organ donors and recipients, their families, and our caregivers who support them. Please join us in San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Healing Garden on Thursday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. for a heartfelt program dedicated to raising awareness about the lifesaving impact of organ donation.
April is National Donate Life Month, a time to amplify the critical importance and impact of organ donation and honor the gift of life donor heroes gave through organ, eye or tissue donation. Across the United States, there are more than 100,000 people waiting for a lifesaving transplant right now. Just one organ donor can save up to eight lives and heal up to 75 through tissue donation. San Juan Regional Medical Center had six donor heroes save nine lives in 2025 and so far in 2026, two donor heroes have saved six lives.
“We are deeply grateful to every donor hero and the families who make the selfless decision to give the gift of life through organ donation,” said Jason Rounds, President and CEO at San Juan Regional Medical Center. “Their generosity creates hope in the midst of loss and changes the lives of countless individuals and families. We are also thankful for the compassionate caregivers who guide and support donors, recipients, and their loved ones through this meaningful process.”
