San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Pediatric Unit – the only one of its kind in the Four Corners region – is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care for children. A 14-bed unit, we care for infants up to adolescents, both for those who need to be hospitalized and those who require specialized attention without hospitalization to manage their illness. We offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric services tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
Inpatient Care
Our registered nurses are specially trained to care for pediatric patients of all ages. They, along with our dedicated pediatric hospitalist physicians, provide observation, medical/surgical and intermediate level of care for children who are too ill for home care but stable enough to avoid being transferred to a facility out of town. This means families can stay close to home while their child receives the advanced medical attention they need. This includes respiratory support, IV therapy, and continuous monitoring in a child-friendly environment designed to reduce stress and promote healing.
Outpatient Services
Our outpatient services are designed to bridge the gap between a regular pediatrician’s visit and being admitted to the hospital. These services include treatment for chronic conditions, follow-up care after hospitalization, infusions, medication management, and monitoring for illnesses that require more attention than a standard office visit can provide. Our skilled pediatric nurses and providers work closely with families to ensure that care plans are clear, effective and support long-term wellness.
At San Juan Regional Medical Center, we’re committed to keeping children close to home, supported, and on the path to recovery. We’re proud to provide a seamless continuum of inpatient and outpatient pediatric care right here in our community. Learn more about our pediatric services: https://www.sanjuanregional.com/pediatrics.
