Friday, May 27, 2022 San Juan Regional Medical Center Welcomes Chief Nursing Officer

San Juan Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that Kammie Monarch RN, MSN, JD, will join the senior leadership team at our community owned and operated hospital as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Our previous CNO, Suzanne Smith, retired earlier this month following a 38-year nursing career with the hospital.

Kammie is a visionary healthcare leader with a demonstrated history of achieving strong outcomes in not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations. She is a master’s prepared Registered Nurse with a Juris Doctorate and comes to San Juan Regional Medical Center from Oklahoma City, where she served as CNO of Oklahoma Medical University Center for 10 years.

Kammie is a change agent with proven leadership abilities implementing processes quickly, employing a structured 90-day framework for project and program implementation. She served as the American Nurse Association’s Director of Magnet and Accreditation Programs and has advanced knowledge of hospital nursing regulatory standards and accreditation pursuits.

A hands-on leader, Kammie makes every effort to meet people where they are and prides herself on being professional and no nonsense. She thrives in collaborative and forward-thinking complex care environments and has a demonstrated history of success. While CNO at Oklahoma University Medical Center, the hospital achieved year over year improvement in Leapfrog and HCAHPS scores.

“We are excited to welcome Kammie to San Juan Regional Medical Center as Chief Nursing Officer. She is a top performing leader with extensive expertise and strategic vision that is in line with our mission to continuously strive toward better as we work to deliver quality patient care,” said John Mayer, CFO, Acting Administrator of SJRMC.

“I look forward to having the honor to earn trust, honor legacy and create new excitement and momentum to elevate SJRMC for the future,” Kammie said.

Her first day as CNO at San Juan Regional Medical Center will be June 20.
