Just the Essentials of Baby Care

This three-hour course is intended for first-time parents or as a refresher course for anyone who is interested. It will focus on the basics of breastfeeding and caring for your newborn and includes expert instruction on what to expect the first month and as you get started breastfeeding. Additional topics covered include:

  • The Golden Hour
  • Newborn procedures
  • Initiating and maintaining breastfeeding
  • Basic care aspects including hunger cues, sleep, soothing a crying baby, feeding, diapering and infant health and safety.

“This course is an excellent opportunity for the parents needing an overview of what to expect and to help determine if additional courses are needed,” said Childbirth Center Educator Kathy Coleman.
