Monday, April 4, 2022 San Juan Regional Medical Center to Resume In-Person Childbirth Preparation Classes

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Childbirth Center is proud to announce that we are resuming in-person Childbirth Preparation Series classes for expectant mothers and their birth partners. Welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world is an exciting time, but there are a lot of decisions to make and questions to ask. At San Juan Regional Medical Center, we are committed to providing the support and education expecting parents need to make sure their baby gets the best start in life.

Our Childbirth Preparation Series classes are all-encompassing. Our Baby Friendly® experts partner with new families to explore the basics of a healthy pregnancy and birth, what to expect once baby is born, newborn basics and beyond. Topics covered include comfort measures, breathing, relaxation, the stages and phases of labor, support person skills, medical interventions in labor, the first few weeks at home and postpartum care. Emphasis is placed on having a healthy pregnancy, understanding the physical and emotional challenges of labor and delivery and getting to know other pregnant women and families.

The classes are limited to five expectant mothers and one support person each. Masks are required for the health and safety of everyone. They are offered free of charge as a benefit to expecting parents in our community compliments of San Juan Regional Medical Center, your community owned and operated hospital.

The next series will be held Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon, from April 16 through May 7 in the Childbirth Classroom at San Juan Regional Medical Center. To register, visit: https://www.sanjuanregional.com/creg/childbirth-classes-april-2022
