Wednesday, March 1, 2023 You Can Help with the Critical Blood Shortage Sign Up to Donate

San Juan Regional Medical Center is partnering with Farmington Rotary Club to host a blood drive. There is a critical need for blood right now and with the blood supply shortage we are experiencing nationwide there has never been a better time to give.

The drive will be held on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28 at San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Café La Ventana (located on the main floor of the hospital.) Appointments are required, and only take 15 minutes.

Signing up is easy. Go to www.vitalant.org and click “make an appointment.” Put in the zip code “87401” and click “Find location.” Then, you can jump to the dates (3.27 and 3.28) by using the calendar. Scroll down to Farmington Rotary Club to open the appointment calendar and select a specific time slot:

Monday, March 27: 12:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday, March 28: 7:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

We are accepting two types of blood donations at this event:

  1. The traditional one pint of whole blood.
  2. The Power Red (double red) donation, which takes about 15 minutes longer and collects a concentrated donation of red cells that can help twice as many patients.

Donors must be at least 18 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. For more information, visit https://vitalant.org/
