San Juan Regional Medical Center is offering support to bariatric surgery patients along their weight loss journey. Our new Bariatric Surgery Support Group is open for anyone who has had bariatric surgery or who is active in working towards a surgery date.

Meetings are held at the Metabolic and Bariatric Institute on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We invite our bariatric surgery community to join us to discuss a range of topics, share their experiences and provide and receive peer support and camaraderie.

The support group is led by Meghan Ritz, Physician Assistant and Assistant Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Institute. Upcoming meeting dates and topics include:

  • Tuesday, February 13: Meal Prep Can Be Fun
  • Tuesday, March 12: Vitamin Controversies
  • Tuesday, April 9: Dispelling Myths After Surgery
  • Tuesday, May 14: We All Have Beach Bodies!
  • Tuesday, June 11: Summer Cookout Options

Patients are welcome to show up to each meeting, no registration required. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the Metabolic and Bariatric Institute at 505.609.6300 and ask for MiLynda.
