Cardiology Unit
San Juan Regional Medical Center’s cardiology unit is dedicated to heart patients who have undergone a heart procedure and is staffed with nurses who have completed extensive training in cardiac care. Advanced technology and equipment allows constant and continuous monitoring in addition to adjust each room to meet the patient’s stable to critical clinical needs.
Each patient treated in the unit has a heart monitor attached to his or her chest with cardiac electrodes. This device monitors the electrical activity of the heart. The data collected by the heart monitor is sent to the nurses station where it is continuously observed. The patient-to-nurse ratio is adjusted to meet the clinical needs of our patients.
Our cardiology unit has 23 private patient rooms and a large waiting area that includes a cardiac resource center, family kitchen, and large meditation room for peace and healing. Visitors can come and go 24 hours a day based on the patient’s desire.
