San Juan Regional Medical Center uses the latest technology to keep patients comfortable while they undergo an endoscopy. Our team of specialized doctors and experienced nurses perform a wide-range of tests and procedures to care for patients experiencing heartburn, acid reflux, colon cancer, unknown masses, or infections that are resistant to treatment. A small camera attached to a narrow tube is fed through the body to locate and diagnose issues in the lungs and digestive system.
Doctors recommend that adults age 50 and over receive regular colon screenings because the risk for colon cancer increases with age.
Our services include:
- Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Esophagogastroduodenoscopy
- Motility studies
- ERCP (care for disorders of the bile duct)

pH Monitoring System
Our catheter-free pH capsule is revolutionizing the way we test reflux disease—a disease that affects roughly 20 millions Americans. A capsule collects and transmits pH data with radio frequency telemetry to a small, external, and pager-sized receiver worn by the patient.
Capsule Endoscopy
Patients undergoing a capsule endoscopy swallow a small camera pill. The camera sends images of the small intestine to a data recorder worn around the patient’s wrist. Doctors use the images to diagnose bleeding disorders that can’t be visualized by a traditional endoscopy.
