San Juan Regional Medical Center has a wide variety of healing professionals here to serve our patients, including our four-legged healers. Interaction with animals is proven to reduce stress and anxiety while increasing feelings of well-being.

We have a number of Delta Society-certified* pet therapy teams who can visit with patients. Our teams are specially trained to provide supervised interactions with patients in the hospital and other treatment sites affiliated with San Juan Regional Medical Center.

* The Delta Society is a non-profit program that trains and screens volunteers with their pets.

To arrange a pet therapy visit, ask your nurse or call 505.609.6280. Visits can be scheduled seven days a week between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (based upon the availability of our volunteer pet therapy teams).

We know that patients might miss their own pet while at our facility, but for the health and safety of all patients, personal pets are not permitted at SJRMC.
