||San Juan Regional Medical Center is committed to helping other hospital departments by providing compassionate, well-trained, and resourceful individuals who provide quality care and customer satisfaction.
Volunteers may choose to join the Auxiliary or the inservice program. The Auxiliary is a service organization established in 1952 that sponsors the Gift Market, teenage volunteer program for those 14 years of age and older, and events to raise funds for patient care, equipment, and educational assistance for those interested in a medical profession.
In addition, the volunteer chaplaincy program involves pastors and lay visitors from area churches whose purpose is to offer spiritual comfort to patients and their families.
Because of the time investment in orientation and training, we ask volunteers for at least a six month commitment. Some volunteer opportunities include:
- Gift Market
- Information desk
- Refreshment cart
- Crafty critters
- Reception areas
- Clerical support
- Mail service
- Toys and tray favors
- Magazine service
