Clinical Rotations

Located in the beautiful San Juan River Valley in northwest New Mexico, San Juan Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) is an independent not-for-profit health system serving the entire Four Corners region. Our 198-bed, level III trauma center includes a 14-bed ICU with a 8-bed stepdown PCU, dedicated pediatric unit, state-of-the-art operating suites, the da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgery System and the first and only O-arm™ Surgical Imaging System in the area.

Clinical Rotation Opportunities

Our precepted rotations include both inpatient and outpatient care with a mix of low to high acuity levels that meet the educational program needs of students.

  • Medical Students (MD)
  • Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP)
  • Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist (SRNA)

To see if your school has a current affiliation agreement, please email San Juan Regional Medical Center’s clinical rotations team at clinicalrotations@sjrmc.net.

If your educational institution does not have an affiliation agreement in place with San Juan Regional Medical Center, we would be happy to start the process with your school’s clinical advisor. Keep in mind that processing new Affiliation Agreements is a legal contracting process and can take up to 120 days to complete.

Finding a Preceptor

  • If you are needing assistance in obtaining a preceptor within San Juan Regional Medical Center, please reach out to the Clinical Education team at clinicalrotations@sjrmc.net. Be sure to include what type of specialty you are needed.
  • Once you find a preceptor, complete the Preceptor/ Learner Agreement form. A new agreement form is required for each rotation. You can upload a PDF file of your completed form in your application submission.
