Thursday, November 5, 2020 San Juan Regional Medical Center to Hold Online Childbirth Preparation Series Classes
San Juan Regional Medical Center wants to make sure expecting parents have the support and services they need to give their baby the best start in life. We will be holding our next series of online Childbirth Preparation classes starting Tuesday, November 17. The classes, offered through our Childbirth Center, are provided to our community at no cost as a benefit to expecting parents.

While preparing for a new baby is exciting, there are a lot of decisions to make and questions to ask. The Childbirth Preparation Series invites moms and their families to learn the basics of a healthy pregnancy and birth, what to expect once baby is born, newborn basics and beyond. Topics covered include comfort measures, breathing, relaxation, the stages and phases of labor, support person skills, medical interventions in labor, the first few weeks at home and postpartum care. Emphasis is placed on having a healthy pregnancy, understanding the physical and emotional challenges of labor and delivery and getting to know other pregnant women and families.

The classes will be held virtually via Zoom to limit in-person contact and comply with social distancing guidelines. The classes are taught by Alicia Dicker, Childbirth Educator at San Juan Regional Medical Center. The next series begins on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, and will be held each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. through December 17, with the week of Thanksgiving off.
