Thursday, March 31, 2022 Leadership Change at San Juan Regional Medical Center

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s President and CEO, Jeff Bourgeois, is leaving the organization effective March 31, 2022. Mr. Bourgeois served as President and CEO for five and a half years, leading the hospital through an unprecedented national pandemic.

“It has been my honor to serve as President and CEO. I have truly come to understand the meaning of each of our Core Values, as I have seen them carried out by each of you, every day,” Mr. Bourgeois said in an email to hospital employees.

Chief Financial Officer John Mayer has been appointed by the Board of Directors as Acting Administrator as the Board coordinates a professional search for a new CEO.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Jeff for his service to the hospital and his dedication to making our community a better place to live, work and play,” said Sam Gonzales, Board Chair. “We look forward to engaging in a nationwide search to find a leader who shares in that dedication to our community hospital and Core Values of Sacred Trust, Personal Reverence, Thoughtful Anticipation, Creative Vitality and Team Accountability.”

“My deepest wish for this organization is continued growth and prosperity. San Juan Regional Medical Center is a remarkable organization, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve along with the talented, dedicated and compassionate caregivers throughout SJRMC,” Mr. Bourgeois said.
