Volunteer Opportunities

San Juan Regional Medical Center's Volunteer Services Department is committed to both complementing and supplementing other hospital departments by providing compassionate, well-trained and resourceful individuals who provide quality care and customer satisfaction.

Volunteers may choose to join the Auxiliary or the inservice program. The Auxiliary is a service organization established in 1952 that sponsors the gift shop, the teenage volunteer program for those 14 years of age and older, and holds events to raise funds for patient care, equipment and educational assistance for those interested in a medical profession that benefits SJRMC.

In addition, the Volunteer Chaplaincy program involves pastors and lay visitors from area churches whose purpose is to offer spiritual comfort to patients and their families.

Because of the time investment in orientation and training, we ask for at least a six month commitment.

Some volunteer opportunities include:

  • Gift shop
  • Information desk
  • Refreshment cart
  • Crafty critters
  • Reception areas
  • Clerical support
  • Mail service
  • Toys and tray favors
  • Magazine service
