More About SJRMC

Providing San Juan County with a specialized acute hospital, San Juan Regional Medical Center is a major factor in both health care and economics throughout the entire Four Corners region. The hospital, with a licensed capacity of 240 acute inpatient beds, also operates a Level III Trauma Center, 7 physician clinics including the SJRMC Urgent Care Center, a ground ambulance system serving all of San Juan County, a regional air ambulance system, and San Juan Regional Cancer Center. SJRMC is also a partner in the 18-bed San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.

Each of these services, along with state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory and imaging services, is utilized by patients in the Four Corners area of New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah, and even beyond.

San Juan Regional Medical Center and its medical staff of over 135 physicians represent over 26 areas of general and specialty practice. Recent diagnostic and technological improvements at the hospital include a Cardiac Cath lab, a linear accelerator used in cancer treatment, PET/CT scanner and a sophisticated magnetic resonance imaging unit.

Facilities are designed with uncompromising attention to healing, utilizing natural light, soft colors, privacy and comfortable, home-like surroundings. Although the current Cancer Center has served the public well since 1987, ground was broken in January 2008 on a new Cancer Center which will provide radiation oncology and cancer support services while incorporating these same design features. For the last few years, and going forward, facilities design has also utilized many features that are both sustainable and environmentally conscious.

Along with clinical and technological excellence, the hospital and its greater than 1400 employees are purpose-driven members of the regional community. As such, community benefit programs are extensive, and range from support groups and educational seminars to free flu shot clinics and sponsored health fairs.
